Habari Project is a new blogging platform, it’s a free software released under Apache License 2.0. The name of the project, “habari” is a Swahili word; the meaning of that word is “News”. Habari Project started with the slogan “Spread the News”, and its aim is to represent a fresh start to the idea of blogging.

Habari relies on PHP5 with PHP Data Objects (PDO); some servers does not still support PHP5, so before installing you should learn the PHP version of your server. And Habari works with various SQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite). Habari is strongly object oriented, and implements the full suite of the Atom Publishing Protocol. Installing Habari on a server and using Habari is not difficult. The admin panel interface is very simple. Habari is still under development, the latest version is 0.2.
